When we face times of major transition in our lives we often get so focused on our "big picture" goals that we forget to enjoy the journey. That's the story of my life! I get so stuck working on my "master plan" that I miss the moment. It has often been a struggle to detach from the details. When working towards major change and transition, getting stuck in the change can bring frustration and at times discouragement if you don't take time to step away from the vision occasionally. It becomes a vortex and you overlook the progress you've made along the way. Have you ever heard the saying, "you can't see the forrest for the trees?" Who wants to go through the forrest and MISS the beauty of its surroundings because you're so focused on what's right in front of you? The best way to take in the "forrest" in the midst of the "trees" is to celebrate your small successes along the way. Learn to enjoy the journey by celebrating the milestones in your transition.
Tomorrow is my birthday! I decided with all that's going on in my life that I need to stop and celebrate my journey. The journey to Fly Free isn't always easy but when I look back on where I started, I can't help but be ecstatic about my progress. I invite you to enjoy my pre-birthday moments and I encourage you to choose one way to "celebrate your journey!" Post your ideas in the comment section and let's "Fly Free!"
Happy Belated Birthday Daniela!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post. I think focusing on the finish line is definitely something that we all have been guilty of. I've always leaned on a quote by Marcel Pagnol during my uneasy times of change, “The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be.” Now I can add your words and remember to celebrate the journey along the way.
Your energy during Karaoke was off the chart! Also, great inspirational story in the last video.
Thank you for the birthday wishes Eugene! I appreciate you taking the time to review my blog and to enjoy my videos. My heart is always to inspire and it encourages me to hear when others receive that gift of inspiration from my material. I hope that you will continue to stay connected to me. I am working on a new blog and video called, "Don't Go At It Alone" that should be up in the next week, so please be on the lookout for it. In the meantime, please stay connected.

Daniela,
ReplyDeleteFor starters, I wanted to wish you a belated Happy Birthday. Enjoyed your videos, and as our last day is upon us for IMK, I thought your last post was most appropriate-we have survived this class! With all the assignments and trying to absorb all the assigned reading, we do have to take a moment to appreciate this gift of life. It is apparent that you do have the talent to be able to reach people- that is imperative in marketing.Thank you for the reminder and wish you all the best in your endeavors.
Happy Belated Birthday Daniela! You have inspired me so much. I needed that! I forget to celebrate the successes that I have accomplished along the way. Sometimes I get so caught up on focusing on the what's ahead instead of focusing on what is happening right now. Your posts are so inspirational and motivating. Thank you for using your gift to reach out to people like myself. I wish you the best.
